Recognizing and defeating the demonic

The most common way the devil operates today is by perversion in your thought life, it’s called a stronghold.
If he can trick you, deceive you, seduce you to believe something, exactly what he did in the Garden, exactly what he’s done all through history. It’s called a stronghold.
Proverbs 5:22 “His own iniquities entrap the wicked man, and he is caught in the cords of his own justification.”
Iniquity is the willing acceptance of a mentality of a principality. Over a lifetime we have justified certain beliefs and habits that are unprofitable. The Holy Spirit reveals and leads us into truth.
Romans 8:6 “If you are naturally minded, you are an enemy of God, for your natural mind is not subject to the law of God, nor can it ever be!”
This verse is saying that the mind you have trusted so much since birth is actually an enemy of God. We should start immediately suspecting every natural thought as a possible lie. Have you begun to suspect that you might have a mentality of a principality? That demonic spirits are speaking into your mind and trying to get you to do stupid things so you will fail and be miserable? Demonic assignments use every device to shape your mentality. Don’t give easy opportunity to the demonic to plant unbelief in your mind.
Since childhood, we have been trained by our brains to rely on our minds for security and to strategize our next moves. Demons want to keep you believing that you are your inner thoughts. But you are not the thoughts of a physical brain, you are a speaking spirit! Once you decide to believe in Lord Jesus for your salvation, you are a new creation that never existed before. God buried the natural you in Christ Jesus where the devil can’t find you. Quit digging up the corpse. Live in the spirit with life and peace, become alive to Christ.
Colossians 3:3 “For you died, and your life is now hidden in Christ in God.”
